Michael John Brig (Rtd) LVO, OBE.

Died after a short stay in Auckland Hospital on 27^th July 2026. Aged 89 years.

Beloved husband of Margaret for 60 years. Much loved father and father-in-law of Sandra and the late Grant Close and Katherine and David Freeman-Greene. Cherished Grandfather of Jessica, Emily and Edward Close and Daniel and Thomas Freeman-Greene. Grandfather in-law to Rob Webb, Richard Mulvey and Olivia Thomson. Proud Great -Grandfather to Wilfred, Margaret and Barbara Mulvey and Francis and Julian Webb.

A service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held at St Mary’s in Holy Trinity Cathedral, 446 Parnell Road, Parnell on Monday 3rd August at 1pm.
